perfect for singing in the shower July 21, 2010 leighstew Anyone with a radio in their bathroom knows that it's almost impossible to make out the music over the sound of running water in the shower. This wireless shower speaker is the PERFECT solution. Because it hangs from the shower head, it provides the sound you need. Additionally you can listen to your MP3 player while it is safely docked far from the water. The transmitter for the MP3 docking station uses a frequency of 900mhz which causes some static if it is placed too cloesly to the cordless phone, BUT the good news is that the transmitter has a pretty far range so you are not limitted to docking your MP3 player in the room next to the shower. I've tried mine from across the house and it worked just fine. For those of you who prefer to listen to AM/FM radio, this product also gets good radio reception. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys listening to music in the shower. FIVE STARS!!
Stopped working for no reason July 17, 2010 Craig Stahl It was fine, but then after a few weeks it started to get a little spotty. It's stopped working altogether now, a month later
Stay Tuned July 12, 2010 Steve Spain (Eureka, CA, US) I was really excited to have a shower speaker for my iPhone - however this wasn't it. After two uses, the speaker stopped working. I haven't been able to get anyone on the phone for customer support. This product is awful and a waste of money. Don't make the same mistake I did. Don't buy it. Revised 7/22/10: So, I'm eating a bit of crow and have to revise my initial review. After failing to attempt to reach DB Roth via phone. I tried contacting them via email and was provided with a free return shipping slip. I just received the email that the exchanged item is on its way and hopefully I will have a working speaker soon. I can't yet speak to the efficacy of the item itself - but their customer service has been as cheerful and friendly as possible via the impersonal form of email. So I'm hopeful. Stay tuned.
best out there July 12, 2010 K. M. King (Phoenix, AZ) I got this as a gift for my technologically addicted husband. After looking at all the "shower radio" comparisons this won out due to the fact that the reviews were better and I liked the idea of my expensive ipod or iphone was out of the water. I am sorry but accidents happen all the time. The speakers are awesome and we just play off a playlist. Definitely a great buy and my husband (and us) love rockin out in the shower now too :)
Really good shower speaker! May 30, 2010 Kirsten Hallman (West Columbia, SC) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My boyfriend got this for me for my birthday. I wasn't really sure what to expect--I wanted something along these lines, but I wasn't sure how well it was going to work. It has exceeded all my expectations--the sound quality is actually decent for a speaker that hangs in your shower and receives a transmission through a radio(?) signal. I have used it in my house and in my dorm room (where cell phone signals and radio signals don't come through) and I can still get a great signal in the bathroom. The speaker stays in my bathroom all the time and water doesn't seem to faze it at all (although I wouldn't suggest dunking it or anything). I really like knowing my iPod is safe and sound while still enjoying my tunes in the shower! I haven't tried taking the speaker outside yet, but I'm sure it will do fine when I do. Set-up takes less than five minutes. Take it out of the box, pop batteries in, plug in the mp3 player, and hang up the speaker. Done. The speaker has its own volume control, which is really nice, but unfortunately it does not have any song-changing function. I just set it up with a playlist of a few songs I know I want to hear--problem solved. The dock works wonderfully with my iPod classic and MacBook, using the same hookup as a set of headphones. The one thing that I really wish it had was a charger, but I suppose that's not practical if they're aiming to make it universal to all mp3 players. Other reviews complain about the short battery life of the speaker, but I haven't had a problem with it. All in all, I'm really happy with the product and I would definitely recommend it!
